At the beginning of the 19th century, the habitat extended over the slopes of the southwest, Pen-Men and Pen-Moor. At the end of the 19th century, the village of Riec took its final configuration and in 1898 became Riec-sur-Bélon in order to avoid any confusion with Briec (Briec de l'Odet, in the department of Finistère).
